Big Love.

It’s a phrase for a concept that can’t be defined to those ignorant of the way it feels, but it’s simply a tagline for the feeling to those who are already acquainted.

Big Love is the non-judgmental, realistic knowledge and love of ourselves – exactly as we are today.  It’s not love of what we wish to become – rather it exists uniquely in each moment-point.

But Big Love is more than a timeless narcissism.  It can serve as the foundation for love of our family and friends, and even our communities and countries.

It is the part of the mind that is able to remove us from simply reacting to the world, and gives us the ability to choose our actions regardless of what the rest of the world might be expecting us to do.

It is knowledge, vision, and feeling – choices in action that put us in the center of the changes we’d like to see affecting our cosmos.

It is not, by any means, a declaration of personal perfection.  Ha!  Far from it, it is the knowing that even if we will never be perfect, we can still live “in love.”

It is the ability to not turn judgement on ourselves when we fail, and the ability to start each day fresh and clean – with a clear eye to the day and what we want to accomplish in the space and time given to us.

It is the ability to exist gracefully in the darkness of unknowing, and still feel like we are centered and poised enough to stay on point.

As a friend of mine said the other day, “the light always shines through the darkness, as long as you remember to keep the light on and shining…”

So cheers to Big Love – may you find it whenever you seek it & may you enjoy the feelings of connection and power it brings to your being.

Peace!
